The acceptance of all 13 NORDEX N133 4.8 MWm wind turbine generators (WTGs), with a total installed capacity of 62.4 MWm, at the Mersinli Wind Power Plant (WPP), located in İzmir and owned by Yander Electric Engineering Consultancy Construction Tourism and Trade Inc., a subsidiary of Metgün Energy, was completed in 2020.
As part of the capacity increase project for the Mersinli Wind Power Plant, two additional NORDEX N149/5.X turbines were installed. The ministerial acceptance procedures for these turbines, with a total capacity of 11.8 MWm, were completed on 3 October 2024, and the turbines were put into commercial operation. Accordingly, the total installed capacity of Mersinli WPP increased to 74.2 MWm.
The registration and verification process of Mersinli WPP under the Global Carbon Council voluntary carbon market framework is ongoing.
